WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS
The purpose of the Business Analyst role is to support both the strategic and operational aspects of the business unit through effective data management. On an operational level, the Business Analyst will be expected to ensure the data accuracy of pricing, forecasting, and reporting. On a strategic level, the Business Analyst will be expected to support projects such as the maintenance of the market database and the implementation of special projects. The ideal candidate will be able to make improve-ments to these processes. Expert experience with Excel and associated applications such as Power Query Editor and Power BI will be important to success in this role.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Business Analyst will work internally with the Sales team, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain/Logistics. The Business Analyst will also work with the Global Marketing team. Externally, the Business Analyst will work with data providers for raw material prices and import data. The position will also work closely with our sam-ple distribution partner to maintain inventory levels and follow-up on sample requests.
  • Data collection for formula prices and the update of formula prices monthly.
  • Accurate monthly update of all prices in SAP.
  • Prepare the required data for an effective forecast review with Sales and provide a monthly forecast for BM.
  • Generate sales reports when necessary to support Sales and business decisions.
  • Collect, scrub, and summarize import data to provide an accurate picture of BM trade in RAM.
  • Analyze pricing on a quarterly basis and conduct a review with Sales to ensure pricing consistency.
  • Manage the sample process and relationship with our sample shipping service.
  • Manage and maintain the yearly review of market data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in pricing, forecasting, and other tasks.
  • Participate in special projects to improve business performance such as the launch of a customer portal, improved shipment tracking, and the development and analysis of customer surveys.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field.
  • 2-5 years of chemical industry experience, familiarity, and interest.
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel and SAP functions including Power Query Editor and Power BI.
  • Experience analyzing data from a CRM platform.
